Staying in the Château du Châtelard castle means you will not worry about the details. We do our best to make every guest happy and we will create comfort for a better stay. Stone walls dating back to the 15th century add charm, and interior items will carry you away to the romantic times of knights and poets.
BEAUTIFUL LOCATIONS IN SWITZERLAND
SPLENDOR OF THE SWISS RIVIERA
Gorgeous view
Trees, shrubs and vineyards surround the castle. You will not end up without a beautiful view. If you look from the windows, you will see Lake Geneva and the snowy peaks of the Alps. The castle stands on a hill so Montreux will spread before your eyes from any room.
The atmosphere of the Middle Ages
When walking along the stone pathways covered in moss, you may have the feeling that a baron or monk will come out of the wooden door of the castle, but do not be afraid — the Medieval atmosphere is strong here.
You will be lucky to find the wooden parts of the castle that stood on this place a thousand years ago. It is like to feel in touch with the historical roots of the Château du Châtelard. The signs and coats of arms throughout the territory of the castle will take your mind back in the times of barons and counts. The Middle Ages and modern times are intertwined.
Large apartments
Fresh makeover, the design like no other and interior items of the past century — this is how the apartments look. All apartments feature interior details — drawers, paintings and fireplaces — that take you back a few centuries ago. They make the castle feel like home and are only reminiscent of the atmosphere of another age.
What They Say
This is a beautiful place for our family to stay. It is full of personality and character and we really enjoyed it. The “chill zone” was an amazing place to have our dinner and look out over the lake, up at the mountains and across at the castle. We learned that there is a light rail stop right up from the chateau on the other side of the vineyard that directly brings you to the Montreux train station. It leaves from track 5 at Montreux. Make sure you signal your stop at the Chateau Chatelard for the train to stop. It goes about 2/hr and only takes a couple of minutes to get back and forth from Montreux. We would stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay at Chateau De Chatelard - Montreux Palace ;it’s an amazing feeling to stay at the castle; the view from the castle is stunning; the castle interiors are beautiful and is cooler than outside (especially when we arrived here during the heat wave period). Edgar is a very nice person and he infact helped us to get to the castle from the Montreux station as well as offered a ride back to the station when we were running late for our train. He is a very professional as well as jovial person to talk to and was always a message away whenever we needed something; He made sure that we were comfortable during our 2 night stay.
How cool to say you're staying in a castle! The views are amazing- from the courtyard and the windows. The beds are comfy, the place is pretty spacious and overall I enjoyed my stay. Also it's actually really easy to walk down from the castle into town, or to the train. Walking back up is a bit more of a challenge because of the hills. Would def stay again!
This was our first trip to Montreux and we had a wonderful time. Being able to wake up every morning in a 14th century castle made our experience even more special. We also loved hearing the faint sound of Swiss cowbells coming from the cow pasture adjacent to our room. The view from Château du Châtelard is breathtaking. I know other have said the same thing but his really cannot be overstated. The living space was quite a bit larger than I expected and the accommodations were very comfortable. The staff were excellent and very attentive. Check in and check out were easy. At check out, one of the grounds workers actually drove us to the Montreux train station so we wouldn't have to call an Uber or lug our bags to the Châtelard train stop. Overall, we had a wonderful time staying at Château du Châtelard and would absolutely recommend this place to others. We certainly hope to stay here again!
A really lovely location, amazing view of Montreux, in an authentic 13th century castle! It's so amazing to see the castle from the hill as you approach. I think they're new to airBnB so they're still working out a few kinks, but Alex and the housekeeper ( a really lovely young lady) are really responsive if you ask for what you need.
This was such a gorgeous place to stay! The view is unbeatable, the apartment is a real treat, and the grounds are like a fairy tale. It's a quick walk down the hill to the town, and especially easy to get to the Montreux ferry landing to take the boat anywhere you'd like on the lake. Checking in and out was seamless and easy, and the hosts were super responsive and helpful with all our questions! I've already recommended this place to all my friends!
If you are considering booking this place, do yourself a favor and DO IT. It was GORGEOUS!!!!! The pictures we got werE BREATHTAKING. The room was enormous! Five stars!! I wish we’d gotten some background on the castle/room we stayed in but the views alone were stunning. Also Edgar met us in the lot and helped us with our luggage. Such a unique, beautiful stay!
If you're looking for a comfortable, unique stay in a lovely setting in Montreaux, this is the place to be. We loved our room at George's castle in Montreaux. The view of the lake below from the castle is amazing, the rooms are nice and roomy, and everything was very comfortable (except perhaps for the room temp, which was a bit cool when we arrived; so be sure to pack a sweater to wear inside in summer). The towels were great, beds comfy and we had everything we needed. The castle is up on a hill overlooking the town of Montreaux, so not right in the center of town, but that's a plus a its nice and peaceful, has great views, and we enjoyed walking into town to visit (just be prepared for a steep uphill walk back). We arrived late as our flight into Geneva was delayed several hours, but were greeted for an after-hours check-in. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Montreaux!
We spent a really nice time at the castle enjoying the view and sunsets from the castle‘s court and outside lounge! The appartment is comfortable (the kitchen could do with some more equipment). The hosts are very friendly! For all our excursions we took the train from the station „Chatelard“, ten minutes from the castle.
Excellent communication, super clean and beautifully decorated apartment with great views and authentic castle experience. All rooms in our apartment had individually controlled radiators so temperature could be increased to suit personal taste in each room.
One of a kind! We had a wonderful stay and the room was much better than the pictures show. It was much larger & more modern than we expected & staying a castle is amazing. The check in process was seamless thanks to Edgar he was on time & extremely helpful during our stay, we asked for a fan due to unseasonal warm weather & they bought one for our stay plus a wonderful hairdryer!!!! you can’t beat the location in an old castle that you can see from all the local lake towns. There are cute cows on the property a wonderful terrace to relax in as well as the vineyards. I would definitely stay here again!
It was soo cool staying in a castle!! The view from the terrace area (which was a very short walk from the room) was spectacular!! It was very peaceful. The beds were comfortable, the water was hot and checkin was easy! We all loved it!!
Overall the apartment is nice. Clean, close to train stop, with beautiful views of the lake and the city. Definitely felt special to stay in such a neat place. The actual castle was under renovations when we visited. There are several rooms/apartments within the property.
